Irish Navy Deployed In Fight Against Covid19

The Irish Navy’s Flagship LÉ Eithne has been reactivated as part of Óglaigh na hÉireann’s efforts to generate capacity to help the HSE fight COVID19.

The P31 has been deployed to Cork City this evening after a 36 hour refit involving naval and civilian dock yard members.

The crew of the vessel has also been boosted by Naval Service Reserves.

The move comes as health officials predict between 10,000 and 15,000 cases of Corona Virus by the end of the month.
