Councillor Michael Hegarty asked the Municipal Executive when willrepairs commence on the main street in Ballycotton. The councillor also requested when the directional signs indicating Ballycotton and associated facilities at the bog road will be replaced.
In response to councillor Hegarty’s questions David Clarke Senior engineer Roads Cork County Council told the meeting “Roadstone, who we employ for direct labour are working their way through the roads programme. We purposefully left Ballycotton outside of the Summer period. There was some industrial action which knocked out 3 weeks of the summer for the company, so it got pushed out a little bit but thankfully they made great headway. We expect them to be in Ballycotton in a couple of days.” he said.
Councillor Hegarty stated ” the directional signs at the head of the Cork road are resting inside a council garage.”
Mr Clarke accepted this was the case and ensured the councillor the signs would be replaced shortly.
