Using only her camera photographer Carol Murphy is looking to photograph men and women aged between 0 – 100 years.
The project designed to raise funds for the Irish Guide Dogs For the Blind will show the continuous link between Corks generations.
” I am not specifically targeting people who have unusual stories – I am trying to capture a true cross-section of all of the people living in Cork – exactly as they are – and as if I was not there with a camera! I want to take portraits of people without props, posing, prep, staging, make-up, lights, etc, where at all possible! It may sound very simple but that’s what I intend to do – the ethos of the project is to capture the real Cork.” she said.
Once all 202 photographs have been captured a photographic exhibition will be held at the Irish Guide Dog Centre on the Model Farm Road. It’s hoped that eventually these profiles will be published in book form.
Those interested in taking part in the project should contact Carol through www.facebook.com/Cork0to100, on email Cork0to100@mail.com or by phone on 086-8736834.
