Carrigtwohill Tidy Towns battling litter and working hard in maintaining the cleanliness of the town

Recently new road signs were erected at the Community Hall and the entrance to the Well Lane, Carrigtwohill.   Extra bins have also been installed along the main street in keeping with the theme and colour of the new road signs.  According to Angela Aylward spokesperson for Carrigtwohill Tidy Towns  “these new bins are proving to be very successful as there are more of them and they have been placed at strategic points on the street.  More are to be purchased shortly.”

Carrigtwohill Tidy Towns has 25 volunteers and they continue to enhance and compliment the work of the council and Tus workers in the civic streets, estates and public areas.   However they need your help in maintaining the cleanliness of the town. Peckish crows are being blamed for littering parts of Carrigtwohill.   The hungry birds are dragging litter stashed in bins and scattering it far and wide in the hope of finding a tasty morsel.  The committee have requested that business and home owners ensure their bins are securely closed.
