The little shop on Connelly street is crammed with childrens books, thrillers, chicklets, murder mystery, arts and crafts and gardening books to name a few.
Volumes of stock are packed from floor to ceiling all at embarrassingly low prices.
Store manager Jack Walsh told the Frontpagenews.ie “you can get every type of book here. Prices start as low as 50 cent right up to €4. We get in about 300-400 books a week all in excellent condition. Most of the books we sell are around €1”
Jack was at pains to point out “everything raised through the shop here in Midleton stays in Midleton. All staff are here on a voluntary basis. The money that goes into to this till is for the deprived of the area.”
The Connolly Street book shop is open Monday – Friday 10:30AM – 4:30PM and Saturdays 12:00PM – 3:00PM
